The Temple of Coruscant
Facts
- Built in 5000BBY
- Also known as “The Palace of the Jedi”, operated by The Jedi Order and Galactic Republic
- The main Jedi Temple in the Star Wars Galaxy
- Was abandoned and ruined during Order 66, then rebuilt and run by Luke Skywalker after restoration of Jedi Order
- Initially built as a small Meditation Enclave, that was destroyed so they decided to rebuild it as an academy containing a Jedi Library, historical works and Architecture from a destroyed Jedi Temple on Ossus
- Built by The Four Masters (Statues guard the entrance of the Temple) and were forced of two Warrior and two Sage masters
- Jedi Council meeting place is in the North-western Tower
- Warrior Masters statues had their lightsabers ignited, and the two Sage Masters were hooded
Architecture
- Appearance of a fortress, but a place of meditation, peace and democracy
- The Ziggurat was built on a mountain and that served as the foundations of the Tranquillity Spire (tallest spire on the temple). The substance is called Magnate
- The remaining four Spires were built around the Tranquillity spire and contained council meeting rooms
- The Zigguarat design was meant to represent the Jedi journey and climb to enlightenment with the Force
- Bronzium (solid and durable, also used to make Droids and Wookie weapons) statues were scattered around the temple
- All three entrances are connected by pillars and mezzanines
- The ancient library and study halls were built above the main entrance
- A place called a Room of a Thousand Fountains was built in the temple, the ceiling reflected the sky of a terrestrial garden world, and other Meditation Gardens brought a rediscovered sense of nature and harmony
- The Detention Center was built above the Fountain room (Held Sith Lords and their creatures)
- Clerestories (Windows above eye level) were built into the roof to allow natural into the Temple’s halls and gardens, while the rest of the Temple was lit with a soft, soothing blue light
The Temple on Ilum
Facts
- Built on Ilum, an ice planet, has crystal Caves underneath it
- Built to protect the entrance to the caves and give Jedi a place to rest and recover from the environment outside
- Used as a common pilgrimage site for the Jedi, and was used for a trial called the Gathering (students of the Jedi academy get the kyber crystal to make their lightsaber)
- 34 ABY Poe Dameron destroyed Starkiller Base (superweapon built into Ilum’s surface) and it destroyed the planet
Architecture
- Temple gaurded by sculptures of legendary figures and moments in history
- Tall, narrow windows of multi-colored glass built on the upper levels of the Temple’s rounded walls for natural light
- The doors of the Temple were made from stone mined form the caves and accented by a silvery alloy
- The Temple was rarely used and the doors often became obscured by debris, fallen ice, or banks of snow (decided not to main it as the obstructions were seen as a part of the pilgrimage, so the visiting Padawans would use their strength to earn their lightsabers)
- You enter into the main chamber, which was a towering rotunda carved up into the mountain two hooded statues of lightsaber-wielding Jedi and carved obelisks in the centre of the room
- There was access to passages and several smaller rooms that went up the rotunda
- Opposite the main entrance an opening to the caves
- A constant flow of water poured slowly from the Temple’s ceiling, creating a wall of ice over the cave entrance. Every Seventeenth day this ice melted and opened the entrance as the sun would shine over the Temple and melt it

The Temple on Ahch-To
Facts
- On the planet Ahch-To which is mainly covered in water, rocky islands and lots of deep green trees and grass
- The actual temple was built on Temple Island, which was eventually left in ruin
- The birthplace of the Jedi Order, ancient Jedi texts and the first Jedi Temple
- It was the home of Luke Skywalker after he went into exile when his temple and Jedi students were destroyed by Kylo Ren
The Temple of Eedit on Devaron
Facts
- Eedit Temple, was a Jedi temple on the jungle planet Devaron
- Used as a place of personal rebirth and fortification
- The Galactic Republic used it as a base during the Clone Wars, and then became an outpost
- Elegant structure that emerged from the tangles of vines and vegetation
- The grand promenade (Eedit Road) that led to the temple cut straight through the jungle and up the stately staircase at the temple’s main door
- Similar architectural style of the Temple on Coruscant because of the large towers
- Made up of two towers of grey stone joined at the base
- A circular courtyard with a central fountain sat adjacent to the temple as a place of meditation, combat training, and study
- Statues of ancient Jedi sat around the structure
